In the current economic climate it is even more important that we explore as many appropriate opportunities for work as possible. Currently the NHS and Local Authorities are focusing on mental health and worklessness and there are pockets of exciting new social enterprises and new developments from individuals, organisations and the community.
Enterprise provides a real opportunity for economic and social inclusion for entrepreneurial individuals who have experienced mental distress and it can also drive community projects in the third sector, through social enterprises and social firms. As a result social enterprise has gained a higher profile in the year since our last conference.
This event will explore current issues, developments and best practice and is aimed at:
• Leaders and decision makers within the mental health field
• Public sector agencies promoting new opportunities and enterprise activity
• Social enterprise organisations
• Service users with an interest in enterprise
