Community Service Volunteers (CSV)
CSV is a national volunteering organisation which tackles social exclusion. It offers activities in volunteering, training, education and the media.

The do-it.org volunteering database caters for potential volunteers of all ages and produces detailed information on volunteer jobs available.

Energise
This is a US-based site offering a range of resources for workers in the voluntary sector. This includes a free 130 page book The Virtual Volunteering Handbook. Virtual volunteering is defined as the process whereby people give their time partly or solely through the Internet or at a computer.

This site provides the latest facts and figures on volunteering.

Manchester Event Volunteers
The Manchester Event Volunteers (MEV) developed from the Volunteer Crew at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. An interest in volunteering was one of the many legacies left to the region by the Games and is as important as the stadia, improvements in infrastructure and the changed image of Manchester and the North West.

National Association of Volunteer Bureau (NAVB)
NAVB represents and supports a national network of volunteer bureaux throughout England. They do not assist volunteers directly.

National Centre for Volunteering
The National Centre for Volunteering offers a range of services designed to support volunteer managers and organisations that involve volunteers. They also promote best practice and aim to raise the profile of volunteering with Government and help remove barriers to volunteering.

The Timebank website is part of a BBC supported campaign to encourage people to volunteer.

UK Volunteer Programme Managers
UKVPM provides an e-discussion group on volunteering issues. It enables managers of volunteers to consult with other workers in the volunteering sector.

Virtual Volunteering Project
This site explains in detail the benefits of using the Internet to involve volunteers and gives examples about how this works and offers a guide to the issues involved in setting up a programme of virtual volunteering.
